Wollan a fine steward

Otis Wollan is the right choice for Placer County Water Agency director in District 5. His experience as a previous director, keeping the agency in the black during the biggest boom and bust cycle Placer County has seen since the Gold Rush, sets him apart from all others. During this time period a new regional pumping station, treatment plant for Auburn, delivery systems for growth in Western Placer County and repairs and upgrades to existing facilities were accomplished within a solid, balanced fiscal budget. Otis has maintained communications with other water agencies throughout California serving on the Board of P.O.W.E.R. Most recently, Otis collaborated to stop the Garden Bar Dam, a water grab attempt on the Bear River by out-of-the-area interests. Of greatest importance to me, personally, is that Otis is a genuine steward of the American River Watershed. He co-authored a recreational and natural guide to the Auburn State Recreation Area. He is a founding member of the American River Watershed Institute initiated to bring healthy watershed education and scientific research to the American River. The institute’s buildings barely survived the Star fire in 2001, sparking Otis’s commitment to reduce forest fuel loads in hopes of averting a catastrophic fire that could impact homes, water quality and delivery. Please join me in voting for Otis for safe reliable water and power supplies from healthy American and Bear River watersheds. Eric Peach, Auburn
