A woman charged with the murder of a Citrus Heights woman, whose body was found in Roseville, was arraigned Wednesday on a single charge of murder. Stephanie Erends, 25, of Roseville, is being held without bail in Placer County Jail in Auburn, according to a report from Lt. Jeff Ausnow, Placer County Sheriff's Officer spokesman. Erends is scheduled to appear in court again at 8:30 a.m. on March 17 in the jail courtroom. She is charged with the murder of 24-year-old Citrus Heights resident Alicia Ernst. Ernst was allegedly killed early Saturday morning at the Walerga Road location where a county public works employee, according to the sheriff's office report, found her body. She was killed with a sharp-edged utility tool, which law enforcement officials have recovered. According to the report, Erends and Ernst knew each other for several years. No other suspects are in the case and the investigation is ongoing. Law enforcement officials said they would not provide further information at this time.
