The Placer High girls lost their final non-league contest of the season Saturday at Earl Crabbe Gym, but they didn’t go down without a fight. Kellyn McDonald hit a late 3-pointer to give the Lady Hillmen a chance, but their last-second attempt went in and out as Woodcreek defeated Placer 58-56. Sophomore Elena Daniel was outstanding for the Lady Hillmen, scoring 20 off the bench. Becky Feis added eight and Lauren Collins scored seven for Placer (7-8). Woodcreek improved to 12-5 on the year. The Lady Hillmen will open the Pioneer Valley League schedule at home against Center on Thursday.
