Writer hunting for scapegoats

In response to Knight Wagner’s assault on public workers, especially firemen and police (Reader Input, Nov. 17). These are working people. Mr. Wagner thinks these people get paid too much and don’t earn their pay. He does give high praise to our servicemen, and rightly so. Just a reminder: a lot of our veterans return from war and choose these as their professions. Our economic problems stem from the banking industry and Wall Street bailouts, guys like Bernie Madoff, etc. How peoples’ anger has morphed into blaming the public worker I don’t know. Maybe just because some still have a job after all the public worker layoffs, and the angry unemployed need someone to blame. Albert Burn, Auburn
