You get what you pay for with supervisors

-A +A
Has anyone ever heard the expression you get what you pay for? With respect to the issue of Placer Country supervisors' pay, it is my humble opinion that they should be paid at the Placer County department head level, including like benefits. They are presently paid at about the rate of a clerk typist but shoulder responsibilities far greater than that required of a $30,000 to $45,000 per year position. Times are lean, true. But Placer County is financially far above the majority of California counties of like size and many larger ones. Why, because of good management and your elected supervisors. Can't afford it? This financial downturn is temporary and probably not long lasting. While Placer County has been crying poormouth during the 20 years that I've lived here, the population and assets have grown like no other comparable county in the state. Give them the pay raise that they deserve! Ron Schwab Auburn
