FAIRFIELD — Joe Thornton and Mitchell Maddox each won their weight classes on Saturday, helping the Placer High wrestling team finish fourth out of 12 squads at the Stu Rhodes Invitational.

Maddox, who won the 135-pound weight class, was given the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler award. Thornton placed first at 130.

Coming in second in their divisions for the Hillmen were Tyler Hickman (171) and Jordan Trout (103). Steven Cox (152), Carl Pavich (140) and Zach Scott each placed fourth.
