Placer wrestlers pummel El Dorado, 52-19

The Placer High wrestling team opened up defense of its Pioneer Valley League title with a 52-19 victory over El Dorado Tuesday night at Earl Crabbe Gym.

At 189 pounds, Daniel Weathers fought past Rex Gilbraith in triple overtime to highlight the win for the Hillmen, who picked up six victories by forfeit.

Mitchell Maddox won a major decision at 130, Aaron Maddox took a decision at 140 and Tyler Hickman pinned his opponent at 171.

Jordan Trout (103), Andrew Naleway (112), Joe Thornton (125), Carl Pavich (135), Jake Styler (215) and Alec Rubio (Heavyweight) all won forfeits.

Placer will host Lincoln Thursday.

In junior varsity action, Placer beat El Dorado 41-21, highlighted by wins from Alex Marsh and Jack Klopp.
