A Placer County Jail inmate has six stitches in his face after a fight with another inmate.

Joseph Charles Golden, 28, of Auburn, was the suspect in a report forwarded to the Placer County District Attorney’s Office for review after Golden allegedly hit a 29-year-old transient inmate hard enough on his left cheek to create a wound that required stitches.

The fight occurred at about 12:16 p.m. in the top tier of the H tank at Placer County Jail, located in Auburn, according to a Placer Sheriff’s report.
