What is going on?

It was bad enough when Obama bowed to the Saudi King, but now he is bowing low to the Japanese Emperor?

Perhaps he did it so that he could say "Oh, I just bow low to all foreign monarchs", except he did not get down on a knee and kiss the Queen's hand.

Prior US Administrations understood that you can be polite without bowing down to monarchs. In fact, if you watch the video, Obama bows way, way down to Akahito, then gives only a nod to his wife.

I wonder what he will do when he meets the Communist Chinese chairman of the party? Kiss his feet?
