The Placer High wrestling team used its balanced lineup to take second place at the Coast Classic in Scotts Valley Saturday.
Junior Jordan Trout led the Hillmen with a second place finish at 103 pounds. Senior Mitchell Maddox, fresh out of football season, took third at 130.
Andrew Naleway (119), Dalton Richardson (125) and Joe Thornton (140) wrestled to fourth place. Heavyweight Jake Styler, also a football player, took fifth and junior Steven Cox was sixth at 160 for Placer.

Del Oro fourth at Zinkin Classic
Senior Jesse Stafford kicked off his season with an impressive gold medal at the Zinkin Classic in Fresno Saturday. Stafford won the 152-pound class at the tournament, which featured some of the top talent in the state.
The Golden Eagles took fourth as a team among the 40 schools represented. Clovis won the tournament.
Kevin Burrage wrestled to second place at 145. Austin Branum took third at 135 and Dylan Blomgren was fifth at 140. Shane Plummer also wrestled well to take fourth at 215.
