Placer High’s Dalton Richardson won both his matches Saturday at the Placer Duals.

The Placer High wrestling team may not have had the best overall day on the mats, but three Hillmen had perfect performances at the Sixth Annual Placer Duals tournament Saturday.

Placer finished 2-3 in five grueling duals.

Mitchell Maddox won all five of his matches at 130 pounds, pinning four opponents and winning one match by forfeit.

Steven Cox also went undefeated at 160 pounds. Cox had three pins and two forfeits.

Dalton Richardson finished the day 2-0 at 125 pounds.

Central Catholic beat Nevada Union to win the tournament. Red Bluff defeated Spanish Springs to place third.

The Hillmen host Mesa Verde Tuesday at 6 p.m. in their final Pioneer Valley League dual.

Whitney will host the PVL championships on Feb. 11, with the Division Finals, Masters and State Championships to follow.
