Random kindness alive in Auburn
Reader Input

I saw something that warmed my heart today.

As I approached the stop sign at Nevada Street, by the Auburn post office, I saw an older gentleman who had lodged his wheelchair on the curb at the edge of a driveway.

He couldn’t move it back or forward, and attempted to stand and adjust it, but couldn’t remain standing long enough to do it.

I was about to pull over and get out to help, when I saw a young man get out of a pickup and a woman get out of her car and go over to assist him.

It was like one of those Liberty Mutual commercials where people help one another and it is noticed and replicated in other acts of kindness.

In these difficult days of recession and governmental excess, it is nice to see there are people who care enough to interrupt their day to help someone in need.
