Foresthill motorcyclist killed in trailer crash ID’d
By Gus Thomson, Journal Staff Writer

The California Highway Patrol released the name Thursday of the motorcycle rider killed after crashing late Tuesday into a parked trailer in Foresthill.

He was identified as Dustin Xavier Dean, 28, of Foresthill.

The Highway Patrol reported that Dean was the lone rider of a Yamaha off-road motorcycle on Foresthill's Harrison Street near Soap Street when it crashed into the trailer.

The driver had no headlight on the motorcycle and there were no streetlights on the road, the report stated.

Traveling at about 50 to 60 mph, the motorcycle hit the trailer head-on and Dean was sent off the bike into the trailer, the Highway Patrol said. Dean was not wearing a helmet and died at the scene of the accident.
