It’s time for a third party
Reader Input

In deciphering Miss Patricia Garon’s comments (Journal, March 1), I believe the point she was trying to make, in a roundabout way, is that Democrats are elected to “serve the people” and not corporations and that Republicans are all about “money, money, money” and that electing them is a lose-lose proposition.

Both Republicans and Democrats have contributed to the idiocy of growing government and running the public interest into the ground financially.

What this country and state need are leaders who understand what the constituency requires and act on the majority direction.

Yes, we may all lose in the next election, as a people, unless we elect fiscally conservative people who represent the people’s will and make decisions that are prudent.

Unfortunately, we have not seen that from elected representatives in recent years.

Democrats tell us what is best for us; Republicans are pro-business.

Where is there room for a strong third party that practices the conservative ideals of most Americans?
