KELSEYVILLE — Byron Velvick earned a wire-to-wire victory Sunday in the Bassmaster Elite Series’ Golden State Shootout at Clear Lake.

The California native toted 98 pounds, 6 ounces to the scales over four days, earning $100,000, his first career Elite Series win.

Skeet Reese of Auburn took fifth at the event, totaling 85-3.

Bill Lowen of North Bend, Ohio, took second, totaling 92-9 for the tournament. Guy Eaker of Cherryville, N.C. was third at 90-11.
