This photo was taken from the 35th floor of the Hyatt hotel in Downtown San Diego. Coronado lies across the bay from Downtown San Diego and is a great place to visit while in the area. Even though it's commonly called Coronado Island, it's actually a peninsula. It's connected to the mainland by a narrow strip of land called "The Silver Strand". Coronado is known for some of the best beaches in the U.S. and the Hotel del Coronado, which was built in 1888.
