The people of Penryn sure have my sympathy in their failure to win with the supervisors against a developer. My own community of Meadow Vista has been there twice in recent memory, once with Winchester and now with an asphalt plant.
There really is just one solution left for Penrynites: annex to Loomis. Then you, like the people of Loomis, will have the countryside and town stay pretty enough to renew your souls, land values will go way up, the smaller number of people who do move in will be the cream of the crop, and you will have the best schools, lowest crime, best sports teams and best academic opportunities for your children. You’ll be able to walk out the door, look around, and say, “God, this is nice.”
Developers have a stranglehold on Placer County government. County staff are running, ducking, bowing and scraping to make Bruce Kranz happy and preserve their jobs, and supervisors who go against developers are targeted for defeat with hugely expensive campaigns that make lies look true, sky look green, and John the Baptist look like a groper. Placer County government is in the clutches of Bruce Kranz, who never saw a development he didn’t like.
Annex to Loomis, people of Penryn. It is the only way you can defend yourself against the Kranz gang destroying the reason you live here.

Well if Gordon is against Bruce Krantz, I can't wait to vote for him!! What a great endorsement for Kratz!
Gordon Who??? Oh……. The Recreation District guy. Almost didn’t recognize you without your title in the signature block. Great idea…….. Then Penryn can increase Loomis’s burden for fire protection, contracted law protection, force developments to require a horse in every pasture and so on. I vaguely remember the Winchester project was under Bloomfield’s regime and the Asphalt plant has always been an issue, right or wrong, so let’s shut down the plant, close the Auburn Airport and investigate the cancer causing Union Pacific Rail Yards in Roseville. Kranz is only one of five and I am yet to be convinced has the where-with-all and control/power to be leader of the pack. Meadow Vista should belly up with Penryn and submit its annexation request on the buddy plan; after all, they are both so fiscally responsible and can provide for its constituents. Let’s meet at the Community Center Club house in Meadow Vista to launch the effort and take a dip in the MV Pool afterwards……..
