I was honored to be a speaker at the Roseville Sunrise Lions Club Tuesday night at their weekly meeting. The group meets at the Lymann Leak Center at 7 p.m. for a delicious meal followed by a presentation from a community member and then the they have agenda updates.
Through different fundraisers throughout the year, the Roseville Sunrise Lions help raise money for a variety of community organizations, including scholarships and the Lions Wilderness Camp for Deaf Children. The camp has been serving the the public since the summer of 1981. The staff is proficient in sign language and dedicated to Deaf children. The children are taught about nature, outdoor living skills and recreation, with the goal to assist the camper build self esteem and confidence.
One of the largest fundraisers the Lions do is their firework sale for the Fourth of July. They have the best booth in town, located on the corner or Junction and Foothills. They will start selling on Saturday, June 28th and continue through the 4th. I will be there helping out on Sunday the 29th, so stop by and pick up some fun fireworks!
I want to thank Sandra Sarcaceni, Roseville Sunrise Lions President, for inviting me to speak and I hope she and the rest of the Lions will contribute their club information on the Web site for all the community to see. It was great meeting all of you and I look forward to seeing your content online soon!
