Auburn-Colfax 4th of July Celebrations
Michael Kirby

Auburn celebrated Independence Day with many activities from morning until dark with children's activities in Old Town, family fun at the Gold Country Fairgrounds, and of course fireworks lit the sky in the evening. A great parade went through Auburn, beginning at the top of Lincoln Way and continuing through town to the Gold Country Fairgrounds, led by the Placer County Sheriff Mounted Color Guard. Local residents lined the streets dressed in patriotic attire cheering each float. Colfax also celebrated the holiday on Saturday, with many activities and their own parade.
