McClintock speaks at Rocklin/Loomis Basin Rotary Club October 15

ROTARY CLUB OF ROCKLIN/LOOMIS BASIN

PRESS RELEASE

McClintock Brings His Message to

Rocklin/Loomis Basin Rotary Club

Just three weeks before election

Congressional candidate Tom McClintock will address the Rotary Club of Rocklin/Loomis Basin at its 7 a.m. meeting at the Whitney Oaks Golf Club in Rocklin on October 15. McClintock’s opponent, Democrat Charlie Brown appeared before the same club on September 17.

The opponents for the 4th Congressional seat have widely varying positions on many things, according to the Sacramento Bee, including whether to build the Auburn Dam. At a campaign event in Roseville, McClintock “ripped Brown as someone who will raise gas prices by taxing oil companies and blocking new drilling and refinery construction.” McClintock has also hinted that he distrusts Al Gore’s view, as he put it “…that your SUV is causing the planet to warm.”

Brown is an 18-year Roseville resident who narrowly lost to Republican John Doolittle in 2006 in the heavily Republican 4th District. McClintock will be unable to vote for himself in the election since he must maintain voter residence in the Southern California District he represents in the State Senate.

Guests are welcome to attend the McClintock presentation, according to club President Ed Krumwiede of Rocklin. They can have breakfast for $12 or just come for the speech and question-and-answer session, which should begin about 7:40 a.m.

For more information contact Krumwiede at 435-2373.
