Meadow Songs - A Benefit for Meadow Vista Community Center

A small group of dedicated people in Meadow Vista have been working for the past thirteen years to design and build a 7,000 square foot community center in Meadow Vista. Construction began in 2005, and enough money has been raised so far to build the center and make it water-tight.

Now the interior needs finishing, and then this community center will be a wonderful place for people from all around the area to share and enjoy - as well as host positive community programs of all kinds.

Meadow Songs is a variety show style of benefit to raise money to help finish this community-funded project.

Chances are if you live in Greater Auburn area, you know one or more of these performers:

Colla Voce

Colla Voce is committed to the performance, education, and appreciation of a wide range of quality choral music. Conducted by Janine Dexter, they are honored to have been described as the Auburn area's premier choral ensemble.

Sopranos: Lynn Gehlbach, Shannon & Shawn McCoy, Michelle O'Neill, Alexis Cooper, Debbie Thomas and Jennifer Wood.

Altos: Judy Bacon, Terrie Jaramillo, Lori Hall, Dawn Malicoat, Barbara Murphy and Fran Wheaton.

Tenors: Sue Dunbar, Dr. Erich Parks, Ken Pense, Don Thomas, John VanAuker, and Craig Wheaton.

Baritones/Basses: John Beninga, Larry Dorety, Dr. Jim McGregor, Dean Metzner, Stan Shook, and Scott Warren.

The TJ Wrightly Band

The members of TJ Wrightly present an engaging blend of contemporary folk music. The five member's unique musical backgrounds come together and give rise to soothing harmonies and tunefully diverse acoustic music.

The TJ Wrightly Band are: Dr. Tom Dolkas, Jon Torkelson, Diane & Andy Wright, and Dr. Gerry Lee.

Three soloists from the Sierra Community Chorus will appear as well: Lorin Miller, Dick Frantzreb, and Aarron Kelley.

Lorin Miller is the director of the Sierra Community Chorus in Rocklin. For the past 20 years Lorin has enjoyed performing nationally and internationally in Japan, China, Europe, and the Philippines in a variety of styles ranging from Bach to Broadway.

There will also be performances by several members of the Roseville-based Russian American Music Academy (RAMA), including vocal soloists Meg Cummings, Tracy Volkman, Ben Harwell, Meghan Rao, Dick Frantzreb and pianist Michael Furnoy.

Ms. Cummings, a dramatic soprano, took the top prize at this year's National Association of Teachers of Singing competition in the San Francisco Bay Area. Formed in 1994 by Russian soprano Marina Lynch and American pianist Michael Furnoy, RAMA performs operas and operettas in the Auburn/Roseville area.

This benefit performance for the Meadow Vista Community Center will take place:
