An estimated 1,500-plus hungry area residents poured into Recreation Park Friday evening to try new dishes and favorites from around 15 different food trucks.
The Food Truck Fiesta is an annual event and Auburn Recreation District is the happy dinner host.
“It’s community,” Lisa Kodl of ARD said. ”It’s been very successful.”
Friday’s event began at 5 p.m. and shortly thereafter the smell of good cooking filled the air.
Karen Allen, of Auburn, was enjoying the opening band Bob Woods Swampbilly.
“I like the town events,” Allen said. “They’re always great for the population, family oriented, safe environment, enjoyable.”
Dinner music was performed by the bands Bob Woods Swampbilly and Swamp Zen which prompted some to tap their toes or get on their feet to dance.
“Love that people who come to the event have such a great time,” said Sheryl Petersen, recreation services manager for Auburn Recreation District, about the event.
The event’s proceeds will be used to help fund the Auburn Bike Park.
