At the 22 Annual Salvation Army Toy and Food program, 350 local families will be enjoying the holiday with a lot of cheer. The organization collected toys for approximately 450 children who will wake up to lots of surprises under their trees including bikes, Barbie's, Hot Wheels, and even a Mr. Potato Head. Businesses throughout Auburn donated to the program as well as Placer High School Leadership which collected food to fill 125 boxes. A total of 400 food boxes were created, that included fresh turkey, ham and all the holiday fixings, mostly put together by Raley's Market and Bel Air.
The Salvation Army sent out invitations to families who use their services monthly and on a regular basis. Donations are collected year round which are kept locally too, for Auburn families.
