Auburn honored all Veterans for their service to our country with a full day of celebrations that started with a Veterans Day Parade. Over 40 groups came down Lincoln Way through Central Square and finished at the Gold Country Fairgrounds Sunday morning. The parade began at 10:45 a.m. and halted at 11:00 a.m. for a fly over by the Flying Doctors, three rifle volleys, a dove release and TAPS was played by Placer High School students David Guevel and Jane Honda. The parade was led by Honorary Grand Marshal Col. Clarence "Bud" Anderson a WWII Triple Ace fighter pilot. The parade ended at the Gold Country Fairgrounds where the Veterans Day activities continued with a free hot dog lunch, guest speakers and presentations.
