Not afraid to introduce herself to officers of the law, Laynie Haight, 3, grabs a quick hug from Placer County Deputy Sheriff Eric Lopin during National Night Out. Local law enforcement agencies, including Placer County Sheriff, CHP and Auburn Police Department, where present in the Target parking lot where National Night Out was hosted Tuesday evening. Auburn Police volunteer Paula Leahy hands out safety pamphlets to parents and kids like Matthew Roberts, 6, who scored pencil erasers, sheriff badge stickers and police tattoos.
