Clarinetist Sang Yoon Kim, left, and Auburn Symphony Maestro Peter Jaffe work with the Placer High School band on Wednesday. While Kim will be playing with the symphony on Saturday, the band will be across town working. The Placer Music Boosters will hold its annual Crab Feed and Silent Auction at 6 p.m. Saturday at the Placer Building in the Gold Country Fairgrounds. Proceeds fund the Placer High School Music Department band and choir programs. It includes all-you-can-eat crab, salad, spaghetti, clam chowder, shrimp Louie and a performance by the Placer High School Jazz Band. Dave Rosenthal from KAHI radio serves as emcee.

Jan Muff of Auburn answered our call to show us the signs of spring with a set of photos showing blooming trees, birds, bees, butterflies and ducks enjoying the warmer weather. "I have certainly seen signs of spring in my Auburn yard," Jan Muff said. "My ornamental plum tree seems to be the hot spot in my yard. This House Finch apparently can't resist the blooms."
