Traffic traveling east bound on Interstate 80 comes to a stop just west of the Colfax exit, due to multiple spinouts further up the highway which were caused by slick and icy roads Monday morning. Snowy weather caused drivers to chain up at Applegate before proceeding east on Interstate 80. Due to the closure of Interstate 80 Cal Trans puts up road blocks at the Colfax on ramp Monday afternoon until multiple spin outs further east were cleared up. Shelley Pangman of Cal Trans informs travelers that east bound Interstate 80 is closed past the Colfax exit due to multiple spin outs further up the freeway. Truck drivers like James Rascher traveling with a load to Reno, Nevada, have to chain up at the Applegate exit off Interstate 80 in order to proceed east Monday morning.
