Store roof break-ins; Dollar Tree purse snatch; More

Nov. 9

Robert Lee Roark II, 61, of Colfax was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. The arrest took place during a probation search in the 300-block of Highway 174 in Colfax.

Nov. 8

Sarah Elizabeth Ellenberg, 30, a transient from Middletown, was arrested on suspicion of trespassing at the AM/PM on Dry Creek Road in North Auburn.

Nov. 6

Joseph Michael Taylor, 34, of Colfax was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of meth. The arrest took place at Grass Valley and Culver streets in Colfax.

A ceiling fan assembly was removed from the top of the Foothills Cleaners building at 11324 Lincoln Way in North Auburn. A cash register was damaged and $40 was stolen in the break-in.

Pia Helga Scott, 58, of Applegate was arrested on suspicion of battery on a firefighter. The arrest took place in the 18700-block Applegate Road.

 

Nov. 5

Mark Allen Whisler, 60, an Auburn transient, was arrested in the 2100-block Grass Valley Highway in North Auburn on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Nov. 4

Shawn Michael Sullivan, 27, of North Auburn was arrested on suspicion of unlawfully entering a residence with the intent to steal women’s underwear. The arrest took place in the 1500-block of North Auburn’s Cornell Way.

Christopher Paul Ricken, 57, of Colfax was arrested on suspicion of meth possession after the vehicle he was in was stopped at Interstate 80 and Weimar Crossroads for a vehicle code violation.

Nov. 3

A dropped hotel key at Thunder Valley Casino and Resort near Lincoln was used to enter a room and steal luggage. Value of the lost luggage and contents was $2,000.

 

Nov. 2

A woman reported having her purse forcibly taken from her as she stepped out of a vehicle parked at the Dollar Tree, 2136 Grass Valley Highway, in North Auburn.

A dirt bike valued at $4,000 was stolen from a barn in the 2300-block Swetzer Road of Penryn.   

Nov. 1

A window at a house in the 16500-block of Applegate Road in Applegate was shot with a pellet gun. Damage to the broken window was an estimated $400.

A glass door was broken to enter a 400-block Merion residence in Granite Bay and make off with $10,500 in property, including a safe.

Christopher Reese Dominguez, 52, and Adele Sophia Steele, 53, both of Sacramento were arrested on suspicion of theft. The arrest came after two suspects were detained by Thunder Valley Casino security on suspicion of walking around the slot machine area of the casino looking for unattended tickets and then cashing them in.

Jason Phillip Thomas, 41, of Oakland, and Douglas Gladden, 27, of Antioch were arrested on suspicion of theft and conspiring to take $4,875 worth of tools from North Auburn’s Home Depot.

David Lee Levinger, 51, of Alta was arrested on suspicion of trespassing, by camping repeatedly on private property in the 600-block of Sugar Pine Road in Alta.

Oct. 30

A woman in her early 30s weighing 200 pounds and standing 5-foot-8-inches tall removed several test bottles of product from a shelf, put them in her purse, stuffed them down the front of her pants, and then walked out of the North Auburn Ulta store without paying. The stolen merchandise was valued at $2,313.

Oct. 28

Lindsay Michelle Johnson, 41, of Roseville was rebooked into the South Placer Jail on suspicion of battery — biting the finger of a deputy. The suspect had become combative before the incident and placed in a restraint chair.   

Oct. 26

A Loomis man said an unauthorized check was written on his bank account. Value of the check was $18,850.
