Trude Canet turned 100 years old Nov. 21. A celebration for her milestone took place at Solstice Senior Living where Canet is a resident.

Canet was born in Bemidji, Minnesota, and is the oldest of 11 children. She moved to Auburn in 1963 with her husband Albert and daughter Judy.

Canet is a Navy veteran from World War II and was a call back for the Korean War.
“She is still physically and mentally active,” said  Cathleen Sommer, vibrant life director at the senior living center. “She used to be the president of the Auburn Garden Club, was connected with Eastern Star and Shrine. She loves to cook and garden still.”
