Bravo to our Auburn City Council for putting some teeth into a recent bust of human trafficking in Auburn at 126 East St., a mere two blocks from City Hall. The City Council voted unanimously, at the recommendation of our city staff lawyer, to recover $23,000 from the landlord of the business at 126 East St. that was covering as a massage spa. Our local police diligently investigated and brought the process to completion, including multiple warnings to the business owner and the landlord. The $23K abatement sends a strong message to human traffickers where it hurts — their pocket book.
