Colfax burglary connected to Rocklin ID theft

Placer County Sheriff’s Office detectives are linking a Colfax burglary to ID theft in Rocklin

And they’re asking for the public’s help in cracking the connected cases.

The Colfax burglary took place July 15 and among the items taken was the homeowner’s checkbook.

The Sheriff’s Office said this week that one of the stolen checks was used at the Rocklin Walmart on July 26.

The woman who used the checks at the store was caught on surveillance camera and investigators released photos earlier this week they hope will help lead to an arrest.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect should contact the Placer County Sheriff’s Investigation Division at 530-889-7830.
