A 19-year-old charged with vandalizing a Foresthill church will see a judge again next month. The Placer County Sheriff’s Office arrested Foresthill resident Sean Matthew Junkins, as well as a 16-year-old Foresthill resident Feb. 4 on felony burglary and vandalism charges. Junkins and the juvenile allegedly broke into New Hope Lutheran Church in Foresthill in December and caused $10,000 worth of damages, including destroying the set and costumes for a Forest Charter School Christmas play. The vandals also broke doors, bathroom mirrors and windows. They set off fire extinguishers and damaged antique furniture. Junkins is scheduled for an early status conference at 8:30 a.m. March 14 in Auburn’s Placer County Jail courtroom. Junkins is currently out of custody. ~Bridget Jones
