Alleged text-message death threat lands Auburn man in jail

An Auburn man remained in custody Monday at Placer County Jail after getting arrested for allegedly sending a murder threat by text message this weekend. Officers arrested Myles David Salyers, 37, early Sunday morning after getting dispatched at 11:55 p.m. Saturday to respond to the violation of a court order, according to a press release from Auburn police. Salyers is also being charged with possession of prescription medications without a prescription and driving under the influence. “Salyers was sending text messages which consisted of criminal threats to kill another person,” police said in the press release. Officers located Salyers in a parking lot on the 400 block of Highway 49 in Auburn, according to the release. His bail is set at $200,000.
