The Auburn Little League age 10-11 year-old All-Stars suffered their first loss of the postseason Tuesday night, falling to Tri-City 8-4 in the second round of the District 11 Area 1 tournament. Auburn led 4-3 after two innings, but Tri-City pulled away, scoring the go-ahead runs in the fourth. Auburn had two runners on with one out in the seventh, but couldn’t rally back. Ray Henry and Tyler Gums turned in solid pitching efforts for Auburn. Cole Blackwell had a double and a single and Logan Markstein was 2-for-3 to lead Auburn at the plate. Ryan Gray had one single and a walk. Auburn is back in action tonight, facing Rocklin at Twin Oaks Park in Rocklin at 7 p.m. in an elimination game. Auburn’s Majors and 9-10s will also be in action tonight.
