Pardon our dust! We are making some changes to Auburnjournal.com to improve your experience. Why would we redesign a page that already looked so good, you ask? After months of getting feedback from the community and our staff, we came up with a new-and-improved look that we hope will improve your online experience. We chose the five most popular categories to feature as tabs on the top of the home page. You will notice the top stories section first, which will always have the latest, most important stories of the day. Next you can click on the local tab, which will give you the latest local stories posted to our Web site. Then comes sports, letters to the editor and our newest addition to the site — staff blogs. Our staff began writing blogs in June and the response has been excellent. “We wanted our home page to highlight the most popular categories our readers use and we feel this redesign will make your experience even better,” said Ryan Schuyler, online supervisor with Gold County Media. “Our biggest change is adding the staff blogs section. Staff members enjoy sharing their views with the community and often ask the community to leave feedback on the blogs.” Check these blogs out regularly to see what members of our staff are up to and read what’s on their minds. Our lower section of the Auburn Journal home page includes our daily photo galleries, an exciting video section and our online calendar. The calendar is a combination of our printed Things To Do list, as well as events submitted online by community members. If you have any events to share, we encourage you to post them on Myopolis, the community section of our Web site. We hope you are as pleased as we are with the new look of the home page and would love to hear your thoughts. – Stephanie Breitbart, Gold Country Media online content producer
