The Auburn Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on an ordinance pertaining to food trucks on Tuesday.

Under current law, food trucks must move every 30 minutes or be fined $100. The commission will discuss and hear public comment on new law that would potentially allow a food truck to stay in one place for longer than a half hour as long as the vendor has an agreement with a property owner.

The commission would also establish other rules food trucks have to meet under the ordinance. Maria Moreno, owner of Maria's off of Bowman Road, has food trucks that operate under the current law.

Moreno is working with the city to help pull the new ordinance together.

The public hearing regarding food trucks in Auburn will take place at the planning commission meeting Tuesday, Sept. 4, at 6 p.m. at 1225 Lincoln Way.
