AUBURN CA - One person was taken to hospital by ambulance Tuesday morning after a car left Lincoln Way and ended up on a grassy area in front of a restaurant.

The California Highway Patrol reported one person was taken to hospital with a complaint of pain from a minor injury and some abrasions.

The car involved was a 2011 Honda Fit. Officers were still in the field late Tuesday morning and information on the identity of the driver or details of the crash had not been filed.

The crash location is just north of the Foresthill Road/Lincoln Way crossroads.  The car ended up about 15 feet from the roadway, partly in the lawn area and partly in an area containing low-profile plants.

The incident was initially called in to authorities at 8:40 a.m., Highway Patrol Officer David Martinez said.
