Bah on bloated government

Shortly after the bombing of Pearl Harbor in 1941 the advisers to Winston Churchill told him of the event. In response he said, “What kind of people do they think we are?” These next few weeks as we watch the health care debate unfold in Washington I hope our legislators will remember all of us that came to town hall meetings to express our displeasure of a government fix or takeover of health care. We are not your serfs or slaves that work in the private sector with private healthcare and choice while many of you glut yourselves on the labor of the people with your private health plans and pensions. Will public input be allowed before acting in yet one more unconstitutional way? Isn’t it ironic that the country that gained freedom from the European monarchies is now emulating them? We even have a leader who acts as a monarch/dictator with czars for everything. Bloated government, bloated social programs and bloated bureaucracy surround us on every side. What kind of people they think we are will be apparent very soon. Dean Forman, Meadow Vista
