A bail motion hearing for an Auburn man suspected of attempted murder was postponed for the fourth time Thursday morning in an Auburn courtroom. The Auburn attorney for Michael Lane, 32, requested the motion be held over until 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. The reason for the latest delay was not made public. Lane has been charged with attempted murder for allegedly stabbing 21-year-old Britton Reed more than a dozen times during an early morning fight March 17. Lane, who remains in custody without bail, has pleaded not guilty to charges of attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon, and two special allegations including inflicting great bodily injury. According to law enforcement officials, Lane and Reed were involved in an argument around 2 a.m. outside Bob and Betty's 160 Club on Cleveland Street in Auburn, which escalated. That reportedly turned into a physical altercation and the two ended up on the ground fighting,. Reed was stabbed multiple times, reportedly with a folding knife that was recovered at the scene. ” Penne Usher
