Re: Silver Bend redevelopment monies, (Journal, March 5): How many foreclosures and dwellings are available in the Auburn area for less than $125,000? Many! Why spend $300,000 per unit when existing homes in this depressed market could be purchased, refurbished and financed for less than $200,000? This would increase assessed value far more than what is proposed on Silver Bend. It would also put people to work immediately. It would provide low-cost housing for those with limited income. Redevelopment needs to be revisited in this area. RALPH MILLER, Auburn
