California needs more dams

I agree with Mr. (A. Elton) Geist’s letter (Reader Input, Nov. 16) that water conservation is everyone’s job. When Sacramento forces water rationing on the people, and then waters the parks daily, golf courses get water anytime of the day and Boreal Ski Resort boasts that it used 1 million gallons of water to make snow, it seems to lose something in the meaning of conservation. If we don’t build more dams and reservoirs, we face a serious problem with our increasing population. I know dams are not popular, but with 39 million people in the state, it doesn’t mean we automatically get more rain or snow. Kevin Brady, Auburn
