Calling all salmon: Lincoln event promotes return of fish to Auburn Ravine A group dedicated to restoring salmon and steelhead runs to the Auburn Ravine will hold a Calling Back the Salmon Celebration Saturday and Sunday in Lincoln. The second annual Save Auburn Ravine Salmon and Steelhead-Wildlife Heritage Foundation event will take place in Lincoln’s McBean Park. From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, there will be informational and science booths, live music, arts and crafts for children, fly tying and casting activities, as well as food and merchandise for sale. From 8:30-10:30 a.m. Sunday, a gathering is planned at McBean Park for what is being described by organizers as a time for spiritual blessing to call back the salmon. SARSAS, a non-profit organization that meets in Auburn, has a mission of returning salmon and steelhead to the entire length of the Auburn Ravine. Wildlife Heritage Foundation provides land-conservation services to public and private-sector clients. – Journal Staff Report
