Colfax soccer notches tie with Lincoln

The Colfax High soccer team tied Lincoln 1-1 Thursday night in Lincoln.
The Falcons took a 1-0 lead in the first half when Gary Root’s long free kick found Nike Moore, who put it in the net. The Zebras tied the game late on a penalty kick.
Josh Partin and Eric Graves led the defense for Colfax (1-1 PVL).
Foothill 1, Placer 0 at Sacramento — The Hillmen suffered their first defeat on the road Thursday night. The Mustangs went on top in the 14th minute and held off Placer the rest of the way.
Placer fell to 1-1 in the PVL and 10-1-3 overall.

Del Oro 8, Roseville 1
at Loomis — The Golden Eagles won easily despite an upset at No. 1 singles.
Sophomore Abby Bacharach lost the first match of her prep career 6-7, 6-2, 4-6.
Erin Becker, Leilani Dixon, Erin Wang, Brook McDonough and Ellen Watson won in straight sets. Brie Simmons and Sarah Silva won in two at No. 1 doubles. Elena Hanson and Camilla Alquist won a 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 mach at No. 2. Emma Barry and Ashley Brenning posted a 6-1, 6-4 win at No. 3.

at Lake of the Pines — The Hillgals cruised to 4-0 in the Pioneer Valley League as junior Hannah Gregg led the way with a 4-over-par 39.
Madi Holm fired a 44, Devin McFarland carded a 49, Romi Behunova added a 53 and Kacy Egusa had a 54 for Placer.
Jessica Pisenti and Cassie Smith both shot 51 to lead Bear River (0-4).
