Community Festival sponsors honored

-A +A
The Auburn Community Festival honored sponsors at Ceronix Inc. recently, celebrating the success of the 14th annual local extravaganza that celebrates harvest time and life in the foothills. Sponsors enable the October festival to give away more than $10,000 cash in giant pumpkin, scarecrow, costume and recipe contests. This year a 1,285.5-pound pumpkin broke the all-time Community Festival record, and earned the Goodrich family of Meadow Vista $2,000, thanks to Norma and Kathleen Harris of Harris Industrial Gases and other sponsors. Festival sponsors include Auburn Chamber of Commerce, Auburn Journal, Auburn Recreation District, Ceronix Inc., Exchange Club of Auburn, Harris Industrial Gases/Auburn Iron Works, KAHI 950 AM, Maki Heating and Air Conditioning, Old Town Pizza, Placer County, Tango Frozen Yogurt and Thunder Valley Casino. “For 14 years we have thrown an all-day party in Recreation Park,” said festival chairman Deric Rothe, Auburn Journal editor/general manager. “We have some great business partners and can’t thank them enough for their continuing support. We think life in Auburn is well worth celebrating.”
