Costs will be passed to public

-A +A
Top Democrat strategists, always totally nefarious, are nonetheless absolutely brilliant. Their Cap and Trade proposal, now in the Senate, will tax companies making energy products — PG&E, Chevron and others — and force them to pay dearly for the carbon dioxide created by their wares. These companies, to stay in business, will pass those costs on to John Q. Public, the consumer, who will undoubtedly overlook the real culprits and focus blame for the significantly higher costs on the usual suspects: PG&E, Chevron, corporate America in general. If Democrat leaders are intent on generating a socialist America, and remaining hidden from blame, there’s no way they can do it any better than that. FRED BARBER, Auburn
