The El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office released video and documents Tuesday relating to the abduction of Jaycee Lee Dugard. The videos, originally aired Sunday during an ABC interview with Dugard, are now viewable online in addition to federal parole documents regarding activity of one of Dugard’s captors, Phillip Garrido. Dugard was kidnapped by Phillip Garrido and his wife Nancy on June 10, 1991 in South Lake Tahoe. She was held captive at the Garrido’s home until Aug. 24, 2009. The Garridos have since been handed lengthy prison terms for kidnapping and rape charges. El Dorado County District Attorney Vern Pierson released three videos and several documents related to the case to “shed some light,” on unanswered questions, a press release issued Tuesday. Pierson and State Sen. Ted Gaines (R-Roseville) will discuss those questions and possible solutions at an Aug. 3 public meeting at the State Capitol. The video of parole officers searching through Garrido’s home and some of the documents, including a note written by Dugard, are attached. ~ Staff report
