Junior Savannah Pingree fired a one-hitter Wednesday to lead the Del Oro High softball team to a 2-0 win over Oakmont in Loomis. The Golden Eagles got all the offense they needed with a run in the first inning. Ciera Clark finished 2-for-3 with one RBI while Annette Merjano was also 2-for-3. Pingree struck out nine as Del Oro evened its record at 2-2 in the Sierra Foothill League. Volleyball The Placer High volleyball team traveled to Chico and picked up a hard-earned 25-17, 25-12, 20-25, 25-19 win over Pleasant Valley Wednesay night. Jeff Patton and Conner McKenzie hammered down 12 kills each and Brendan Lewis added 11 as the Hillmen improved to 11-9 overall. Ben Wolken tossed in seven kills and four aces while Josh Newton passed out 22 assists. McKenzie added four aces. Tennis The Foerst Lake Christian tennis team finished off the first half of Golden Empire League play with a 5-4 victory at Golden Sierra Wednesday. Bryan Butler and Olivia Mains clinched the win with a 10-2 decision in mixed doubles. Caitlin Hanson and Ashton Sante both won their No. 1 singles matches. Amanda Timmerman and Holly McClain had a 10-7 win at No. 1 girls doubles. Colin Rafter and Nathan Burnett posted a 10-2 win at No. 1 boys doubles.
