Del Oro falls in four at Rocklin

The Del Oro High volleyball team fared much better against the Sierra Foothill League’s top team, but still lost at Rocklin 25-22, 24-26, 25-19, 26-24 Tuesday.
“It was a well-played match,” Del Oro coach Stu Kageta said. “But it was tough to lose this one.”
The Golden Eagles fell to 3-3 in the SFL despite 19 kills and nine digs from senior Belle Obert. Aly Duffin added 15 kills and three aces, Megan Hentscke tossed in 18 digs and Bailey Humes had 39 assists along with two aces.
In junior varsity play, Del Oro fell to Rocklin 25-22, 25-21. The Del Oro freshmen lost to Rocklin 25-12, 19-25, 15-13.

Woodland Christian 3, Forest Lake 1 at Woodland — The Falcons lost hold of first place in the Central Valley Christian League with a 16-25, 25-21, 25-22, 25-19 loss to the Cardinals.
Amanda Timmerman dominated with 10 blocks, 12 digs and three kills, but errors plagued Forest Lake throughout the match.
Laura Ritchart had four kills and two aces while Brittney Brown added 13 digs and four aces. Aly English was a spark off the bench with four assists, one kill and one block for the Falcons (6-2, CVCL, 11-10 overall).
In junior varsity action, Forest Lake beat Woodland Christian 25-7, 25-15 to remain unbeaten in the CVCL.
