District 5 job can?t be bought

After reading your article about funds District 5 candidates have in their coffers (“Bruising economy dents campaign war chests,” Journal, April 23), I was not surprised to learn Jerry Johnson had loaned his campaign more than $20,000.
There are probably many reasons he did this, but if I were in District 5 and wanted to vote for a Johnson I wouldn’t vote for someone who felt he had to buy the position.
Luckily, District 5 voters are very familiar with Jerry Johnson and probably have seen through his funding, and his endorsements.
