The female driver of a late-model Toyota Highlander has died at the scene of a solo vehicle accident. The accident occurred at about 1:15 p.m. today on Rocklin Road, near Barton Road on the Loomis/Rocklin border. According to Sheriff’s Deputy Bob Brodovsky, the SUV rolled over numerous times and the driver was ejected into a field next to the road where the car came to a stop. “At this point,” said Brodovsky, “it’s a solo vehicle rollover, with one female occupant.” He could not give the cause of the accident. “We’re just beginning the investigation. I don’t want to speculate,” he said. Sheriff’s spokeswoman Dena Erwin said the victim was a female in her early 20s. Erwin said the vehicle, which was traveling on Rocklln Road toward Barton, crossed over the left side of the road and went off the steep embankment. “Her car flipped 4 to 6 times, and she was ejected,” Erwin said. “It does appear she was not wearing a seat belt.” Erwin added that deputies were attempting to notify the next of kin, and would release her identity tomorrow. At 2:30 p.m., Rocklin Road remained closed from east of Sierra College Boulevard to Barton Road. Motorists can take Sierra College Boulevard as an alternate route. Brodovsky said the investigation would continue throughout the afternoon and evening.
